About Me

Welcome to IDHalstead – Instructional Design interests.

IMG_2077 My career in the learning profession started in 1996 when I took a second job teaching computer classes at a local community college. That is when the teaching bug bit me. Currently, I work for Trinity Health Inc. where I have been for 17 years. I started working as a Facilitator and have taken the role of Instructional Designer. I hold a BS in Health Education from Northern Michigan University and a MS in Instructional Design and Technology from Walden University.

I am a member of ATD Association for Talent Development, http://www.td.org/. It is a professional organization which promotes the advancement of learning and technology. In my journey of learning this has been the source of much of the learning I have obtained as I have grown professionally. As my roles change, I have also become a member of the eLearning Guild, http://www.elearningguild.com/. It is a great resource for elearning interventions for instructional designers.

Kerstin&Alex Personally, I am the oldest twin in a family of seven children, my twin and I are the youngest of the seven. I am a mother of two grown children. Kerstin  and Alex is 23. They are the pride of my life.
I am a photographer and an avid knitter. Photography has been a passion of mine since I was a child. With the schedule I am currently keeping photography has become more of a hobby. Knitting is my grounding hobby. I love to see the creativity come alive when creating sweaters socks scarves and more.
